Online Join Form
& Website Integration |

Create a join form for visitors to your website to join your mailing list. The new
members' information is added automatically to your dbDirector database and also
is sent to you via email (you may turn this feature on or off).
You can customize the looks of the join form to match your existing website and
integrate it with your site navigation, myspace etc.
You can also specify which data fields you would like to ask visitors signing up
to your mailing list. You can choose from a list of data fields or create your own
unique fields. For example, you can ask for their email address, full
name, date of birth, or any other relevant information.
Knowing more about your customers will help you design more effective email campaigns.
However, asking your visitors for too much information when signing up will discourage
many visitors. Remember the rule - the shorter the join form is, the more people
will join.
You can add, edit or delete members' information at any time by going to the Members area on your control panel. |

Email Designer lets you create beautiful email campaigns without needing to know
HTML code language. Like any word processor application, you can easily add pictures
and change text size, color and fonts. Upon saving your design, dbDirector generates
the HTML code for your email automatically. |

themes for different occasions: sales, promotions, holidays, parties, corporate announcements,

Opt-Out |
|
Recipients who do not want to receive your email broadcasts can click the Opt-Out
link at the bottom of the email broadcast they received. Their information stays
in your databases if you decide to keep it. However, they will no longer receive your
future email broadcasts. To comply with the FTC and ISPs regulations as well as
to protect the recipients' privacy, members who opt-out cannot be opted-in by
the database director.

brodcasts to a specific group. For example, you can send emails to members of a

A particular member can belong to several groups at the same time, which increases
efficiency when performing segmentation of your target market. dbDirecor includes
sophisticated features to make the segmentation and campaign targeting an easy task
for you. For example, you can merge two groups into a new group and send an email
broadcast to the newly created group. dbDirector will
automatically check and remove duplicate members (who were in both groups) to make
sure they don't receive your email broadcast twice from the same campaign.
When using the dbDirector Email Marketing together with the dbDirector Ecommerce
Store software you are also able to send targeted emails to customers who purchased
specific products or products of a specific price range. For example, when
promoting a new ipod leather case, you may want to send an email to all customers who previsouly
purchased an ipod from your electronic online store. When promoting a new cooking book, you may want to email customers who previsouly bought a food-processor,

Personalize your emails by inserting special tags into your deisgn. For example,
insert the tag "Member's First Name" where you want the name of the email recipient
to appear, so you can start your email message with "Hello John" or "John, check
this out!" (when John opens his email he will see "Hello John" etc..).
dbDirector provides the automated personalization for almost any data field in your
database! You can use this feature creatively and communicate to large segments
of your database in a personal way. This will increase
the response rates of your email campaign, but use this feature carefully - while recipients may enjoy seeing their name, they may not appreciate viewing
other personal information they have

about recipients' viewing of your emails and click-through rates.
When using the dbDirector Ecommerce software you can track customers' transactions
to a particular email campaign to see how successful it was. |

Search |
|
Search your database to easily find certain members. The Search tool has several advanced functions and allows you to search for any member or members that meet
the specified data field. For example, you can search for members who joined your mailing
list between certain dates. You can also search for all members who were born
between 1980 and 1990, or for all members who are picses, leo or a virgo. |

Print Labels
& Postcards |
|
dbDirector gives you tools to print direct-mailers and labels directly from your
database. Each member's name and mailing address are printed on each label or postcard.
You can print the labels or postcards from your desktop printer or you can export
the data onto an excel file and give it to a professional print house for large
quantity print jobs. |

Multiple Managers |
|
dbDirector allows you to set up multiple managers on your account with various permission
levels. For example, you can give your graphic designer access only to the Broadcast
design area but not to the Members area. |

You can add specific notes for each customer and document communications with the customer,
which is especially helpful for dbDirector accounts with multiple managers.

Images Are on the Server |
|
A key advantage of using dbDirector is the fact that while images are displayed
in the body of your email, they are not sent as attachments to your recipients and
remain on the server.
This gurantees a higher opening rate and decreases the chance of the email getting blocked by a spam filter.
Another advantage of having images on the server is that if you realize one of the
images on the email
has a misprint on it after you have already sent your broadcast, you can still fix it by replacing
the image with a correct one and all subsequent
members who view the email will see the corrected image.

Music |
|
dbDirector lets you add music or another media component (ie: flash, movies) to the email broadcast. However, some media components may be blocked by the
receipent's Internet Service Provider. This happens because the providers
try to protect their users from malicious attachments. A general
name for those blocked componenets are "active-x". Also, the Outlook software blocks
active-x componenets as a default setting.
Since dbDirector does not add the media components to an email broadcast as an active-x componenet or as an attachment, the emails do not get blocked and reach the receipent. |

Scheduling |
|
dbDirector Broadcast Schedule tool gives you the flexibility to set an email
campaign to be launched at a specific date and time. |

Test Broadcast |
|
Send a test email broadcast to yourself and to your associates prior to sending
the email to the entire mailing list. This allows you to review the email and make sure everything looks good. |

Event's RSVP Broadcast |
|
The RSVP broadcast works similarly to a regular broadcast; however, it also includes
a link to the online RSVP page. The RSVP broadcast is generated automatically when you
create an Event. |

RSVP Status Broadcast |
|
This feature lets you send email broadcasts to members who are invited to your event
according to their RSVP status. For example, you may want to send an additonal email
about the event only to those members who have not yet RSVPed without bothering those members who already have. In a
similar way, if you need to cancel your event for any reason, you may want to email
only those members who RSVPed. This feature
allows you to maximize attendance to your event without "bugging" your members with too many emails. |

Happy Birthday Broadcast |
|
Design a special email broadcast to be sent automatically to members on their birthday.
You can set the Happy Birthday email broadcast to be sent on or a few days prior
to the member's birthday.
If you manage a retail store, you can ask the receipient to print the Happy Birthday
email broadcast and bring it to the store to receive a discount. Restaurants may
offer a free drink, while flower shops may offer a courtesy bouquet of flowers,
etc.
If you also use the dbDirector Ecommerce software, you can offer the birthday recepient
a special coupon, like discount code or free shipping. |

Import & Export |
|
dbDirector provides you with import and export tools. You can import your contacts
from Outlook, Myspace friends, Yahoo address book, Instant Messenger. You
can import directly from the following file types: Excel, CSV (comma delimited) and text files, and export your member information to either Excel and CSV.
While you can import and export by using the tools in the control panel, you can
also ask the dbDirector support team to do it for you. |

Event RSVP
& Guest Lists |
|
With dbDirector you can create events and allow members to RSVP online. When the
member RSVPs (either
"Yes", "No" or "Maybe"), the information is recorded on your
database and also a notification email is sent to you. Prior to the event, you
can log into your dbDirector account and download, export or print your event's
gues list.
The Event RSVP feature includes additional customization tools. For example, you
can set the event to be private or open to the public. If you open it to the public,
then you may want to link the RSVP form from your website so new visitors can RSVP
to your event and by doing so they also be added to your mailing list. Everything is done
automatically and their informaion is saved on your dbDirector database.
Another example of a useful feature is the Guests' Comments. Members who RSVP to
your event can add comments about the event. You, as the Director, can decide whether to publish
those comments for others to see or not.
If you use dbDirector Event Ticketing software,
then you are also able to sell tickets online and accept RSVPs from members after
they purchase their tickets succefully. |

Email Encoder |
|
dbDirector encodes and sends your email to each member separately, instead of using
Cc or Bcc
(Blind Carbon Copy). Each opt-in recipient sees his or her email address in the
"To" field when they receive the email message.
Encoding the emails is fast - up to 1,000 emails per second, while it executes any
personalization features.

Privacy Statement |

To comply with the FTC regulations, we recommend that you write your own organization's privacy statement in the
appropriate area in your dbDirector account. Your privacy statement basically informs people who join your mailing list online how their information
will be used and protected. |
